Designer Masayuki Koitabashi created three paintings for MOTARASU. The paintings contents are prints made from wooden blocks on Japanese bamboo paper: wood on wood. Hence the name WOOD WORKS, a name that also derives from the word opera, in English.
“Just as music and nature combine, I wished to create a work of art that realises the true comfort in life.” – Masayuki Koitabashi.

Masayuki Koitabashi is a Japanese woodcutter residing in Yokohama. He was born in 1982 and has been creating beautiful and traditional woodblock prints since 2010.

“In my work the constant is a simple figure: the universal symbol of the“ circle. I find my true inspiration within music, within landscapes, within the changing of the four seasons and in creative expressions from all over the world.”

A real work of art, symbolising how simple and easy, nature and music combine in perfect harmony. The perfect example of simplicity and class.
